Avernus is a rock band from Orlando, Florida, known for their energy and punk style down to calm moments where melody shines through. Originally starting as a solo project by lead singer Drake Keller in Indiana, the band fully took shape after relocating to Florida, taking influence from 90s grunge and alternative bands like Nirvana and Sloy.

Across two studio albums, AVERNUS and GOD-FEARING, the group has carved out an authentic, genre-bending sound. While their self-titled debut leaned into a tamer, melodic alternative rock style, their sound shifted toward a heavier, collaborative direction after Keller met bassist Jake Kelch and lead guitarist Mike McNeilly between records. On GOD-FEARING, Kelch taught Keller how to scream, adding a metalcore edge reminiscent of bands like ATTILA and AVOID, while McNeilly brought a new layer of lead guitar work alongside drummer Kevin Barker.

Now, they are progressing more than ever, playing bigger stages and recording their next album.
